Subject: ReFocus Online Weekly Update (Last Edition?)
Good afternoon!
Welcome to Week 4–Round Two of ReFocus Online! This week we conclude our formal summer program and look fall semester in the eye (safely distanced and masked, of course). After 8 weeks, 24 workshops, and many consultations, emails, and conversations, it’s hard to know what to say, other than THANK YOU…
- for making space for community when connections can feel frayed and frazzled
- for honestly sharing your challenges and being open to ideas shared by colleagues
- for reimagining what ‘great teaching and learning’ looks like while maintaining the spirit and heart of a UMW education.
The Center for Teaching and DLS will continue to support your work–we’re here for the long haul and will share our fall programming schedule soon. In the meantime, here’s what you need to know for this final week of ReFocus Online:
The website is live and continues to add session recordings
All weeks are now open on the website, including a section for the Compelling Courses faculty learning community. The website will remain available into the fall semester, so don’t hesitate to continue using it for ideas and resources.
Week 4–Round Two Workshop meeting link
The Week 4 workshop meeting link was sent out this afternoon to all registered participants. Tomorrow’s workshop is scheduled during the height of the tropical storm passing through–please be patient as we can’t anticipate how this may impact connectivity. We’ll do our best to keep on as the winds and rain descend on central VA!
Week 4–Round Two Virtual Q&A
Week 4 Virtual Q&A will be on Thursday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. The meeting link will take you to the session. We have had wonderful conversations and idea sharing among participants–even if you don’t have a question for the group, join us for the discussions!
Book your consultations now!
All Center for Teaching and DLS staff are available for consultations. Book appointments now before they are all taken before classes start! You can make an appointment at least two weeks in advance.
