State authorization is the process which ensures that legislative and regulatory requirements are met in all the states where University of Mary Washington students are located. Virginia is a member state participating in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and the University of Mary Washington is an institutional partner in the NC-SARA initiative. As a result, UMW programs are available to students in U.S. states and territories that participate in NC-SARA.
To learn more about NC-SARA, please visit the organization’s website.
