Subject: ReFocus Online Weekly Update (July 27th EARLY edition)

Good afternoon!

An early welcome to Week 3–Round Two of ReFocus Online! I (Victoria) will be out of the office next week, so we are sending information out this afternoon that would usually hit your inbox on Monday and Thursday. Please review the information below carefully, especially for meeting links.

The website is live and continues to add session recordings

All weeks are now open on the website, including a section for the Compelling Courses faculty learning community. If you are joining us for the first time, next week’s topic is all about content creation and curation.

Week 3–Round Two Workshop meeting link

The Week 3 workshop meeting link was just sent out to all registered participants. If you require help with the meeting link or need a late registration, please contact the Digital Learning Support team (dls@umw.edu) for assistance next week.

Week 4–Round Two Workshop registration

Registration for Week 4-Round Two workshops will open up next Tuesday afternoon (7/28) and remain open through Friday, July 31st. You can see a preview of the concurrent sessions by scrolling to the bottom half of the ReFocus Online registration page. This will be the LAST week of ReFocus Online–please join us!

Week 3–Round Two Virtual Q&A

Week 3 Virtual Q&A will be on Thursday, July 30th at 2:00 p.m. The meeting link will take you to the session. We have had wonderful conversations and idea sharing among participants–even if you don’t have a question for the group, join us for the discussions!

Academic Integrity workshops

David Rettinger, Director of Academic Integrity Programs, will be leading two drop-in workshops on academic integrity in online environments.

  • Wednesday July 29th at 2pm: Technology and Integrity: Threats, Opportunities, and Fool’s Gold.
  • Wednesday, August 5th at 2pm: Pedagogical Approaches to Academic Integrity

For more information about each workshop, consult the Academic Integrity: Faculty Development webpage or reach out directly to David Rettinger.

We hope you all have a good weekend. See you next week!
