Subject: Yet another email from your Librarian!

Dear Colleagues,

I really miss seeing you and your students.  My office overlooks Campus Walk, and it is strange to look out and not see anyone.

We have heard from many of you asking, on behalf of your students, about library materials they may have checked out.  Please let your students know that we have extended all due dates, and that we are waiving fines and fees.  If they have books out, they should keep them.  If they haven’t left town yet, they should come by to check out what they need.  We are also accepting scanning requests from students using this form:  https://libraries.umw.edu/general-digitization-request-form/.  (You can use the form, too, to let us know of resources you may need your students to access.)

Several of you have also asked about internet access for students (and colleagues) who don’t have access at home.  The best advice I have is to contact your phone and cable providers.  Some providers in some areas are working with people to get access, but there’s no universal solution.  For now at least, students needing computers and/or wi-fi can come to the library or the HCC.  In the library, we are working with our housekeeping staff to clean surfaces as frequently as we can.

Stay safe and healthy!

Rosemary
